EXAMINATION AND EVALUATION

The University “Ovidius” Constanta, thus the Faculty of medicine is part of the EUROPEAN CREDIT TRANSFER SYSTEM (ECTS) since 1998. This participation provides a common, similar procedure in order to guarantee the academic recognition of studies abroad.

System of Transferable Credits

As an orientative scale of evaluation, the grades available for the students final examinations are:

• 9 - 10 EXCELLENT: ................. outstanding performance with only minor errors
• 8 VERY GOOD: ....................... above the average but with some errors
• 7 GOOD: ................................. a significant number of notable errors
• 6 SATISFACTORY: ................. fair but with significant shortcomings
• 5 SUFFICIENT: ........................ performance meets the minimum criteria
• 4 FAIL: ................................... some more work required
• 1 – 3 FAIL: ............................. considerable further work is required

Credits may be transferred from one participating university to another. Credit transfer takes place when the student has successfully completed the study program previously agreed on and returns to his/her home university.

Each Department/Discipline individually decides upon the method of examination. As usual forms, those may be multiple choice tests, written tests, oral examination and/or practical examination.

The Transcript of Records indicates the credits and the grades according to both the Romanian system and ECTS.
